Our Mission
To support sustainable recovery and resilience in those who serve by providing evidence-informed, experiential equine-assisted trauma programming.
Our Vision
To become Ontario’s leading equine-assisted trauma recovery provider for first responders and veterans.
Why Equine-Assisted Programming?
Horses are prey animals. They are neurologically wired for environmental awareness and regulation. They respond directly to human nervous system states — not rank, titles, or verbal explanations.
For individuals living in prolonged hyperarousal states, horses provide immediate somatic feedback that helps participants:
• Recognize activation patterns
• Develop regulation strategies
• Practice grounded leadership
• Rebuild internal safety
Leadership
Operational Reset Equine is founded and facilitated by a first responder with operational experience and mental health training.
Programming is designed to integrate lived experience with trauma-informed best practices in a structured and professional setting.
What Makes This Different
This is not horseback riding. This is not talk therapy in a barn.
Operational Reset Equine delivers structured, experiential sessions grounded in:
01
Nervous system regulation
Experiential techniques focused on somatic calming and stress processing in a tactical environment.
02
Trauma-informed practice
Structured exercises reflecting operational patterns like hypervigilance, control, and trust.
03
Peer-informed facilitation
Ground-based work with the herd providing immediate, stigma-free feedback in a confidential peer-led space.
04
Measurable recovery outcomes
Tracking progress through goal-oriented ground exercises focused on trust and recovery patterns.
Participants work alongside horses in carefully designed ground-based exercises that reflect operational patterns such as hypervigilance, control, trust, and boundary setting.
The herd provides immediate, honest feedback — without rank, stigma, or judgment.
